Yorkshire Houses

Yorkshire contains the biggest concentration of houses with documented furniture made by Thomas Chippendale the elder and younger, perhaps reflecting the family's origins in the county.


Other Houses open to the public containing documented Chippendale furniture include

Aske Hall
For Sir Laurence Dundas 1763 - 1766.

The firm supplied both Aske and the London House with beautifully carved mahogany cabinet pieces, famous suites and chairs, as well as traditional but elegant everyday furniture.
