President: Lord St Oswald

Lord St Oswald's ancestors rebuilt Nostell Priory near Wakefield in the early 18th century and commissioned Thomas Chippendale to provide the spectacular furniture for the house in the most fashionable styles of the day. Although the family house is now owned by the National Trust it remains very much the Winn family home. The estate is still owned and run by Lord St Oswald who takes a great interest in the furniture collections as well as enjoying a variety of country pursuits

 
Chairman: Mrs. Pat Lofthouse

Mrs. Lofthouse worked as a receptionist for her husband, a veterinary surgeon, until retirement. She is a past Secretary, Chairman and President of the Otley branch of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.

 
Hon Secretary: Simon R B Stell LL.B

Simon Stell is Managing Partner in the West Yorkshire law firm, Last Cawthra Feather which has offices in Bradford, Shipley and Ilkley. He has been Hon Secretary of the Chippendale Society since 1985.

 
Hon Treasurer: John B Holdsworth

John Holdsworth took over as Hon Treasurer in 1973 when he was appointed Manager of the Otley branch of Barclays Bank. He has continued to look after the Society's finances since his retirement.

 
Hon Membership Secretary: Tony Lumb

Tony Lumb has been a dealer in antique English furniture based in Harrogate since 1956. he has served on the Council of the British Antique Dealers' Association for eight years and was Vice President for a year.

 
Hon Curator: James Lomax FSA

James Lomax took over from the late Christopher Gilbert a Hon Curator in 1995. He has been on the staff of Temple Newsam where the Society's collections are housed since 1985.

 
Hon Conservator: Ian Fraser

Ian assists the Society in one of its key aims, to preserve its collections. He trained in cabinetmaking and furniture design at Rycotewood College and studied furniture conservation at West Dean College. He has been working for Leeds since 1989, undertaking remedial treatments to furniture at Temple Newsam House, Lotherton Hall and Burton Constable Hall. He also advises on collection care for Leeds Museums and Galleries as part of the conservation team and takes an active role in the programme of room restorations at Temple Newsam House where his is based.
