Gift Aid

New Gift Aid measures came into force in April 2000 which enable Charities to reclaim Tax on all donations by means of a much simpler Tax Declaration by the Donor. In the case of this Society such donations include the subscriptions paid by members. The Tax reclaimable currently amounts to 28p for every £1 donated, without any additional cost to you.

You must pay enough tax overall to cover the amount we reclaim; if you are not a tax payer do not sign this declaration. If in future your circumstances change and you no longer pay sufficient tax, you can cancel the declaration. If you are a higher-rate taxpayer we can only reclaim tax at the basic rate. You can obtain the remaining tax relief by including the subscriptions or donations on your tax return.

Your completion of the necessary declaration need only be carried out once to cover all donations and subscriptions in the future and will provide worthwhile additional income for the Society.  You may cancel this declaration at any time by letting us know in writing. Please also let us know of any changes in your name or address while this declaration is in force.
Data Protection Act
Members’ names and addresses are held on computer for the production of address labels. This information is confidential and will not be issued to any outside organisation. If, however, you object to your details being so held, please delete the words ‘do not’ from the statement on the application form and your record will then be kept only on paper.
